Obituary of Joseph M. Pariso

Joseph M. Pariso, age 86, of Monroe Township and formerly of Manahawkin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus. He was born in Newark to the late Georgina and John Pariso on September 19, 1932. After high school, Joseph enlisted in the US Army and proudly served in the Korean War. He later went on to work as a Police Officer for the Newark Police Department until his retirement. After that, he worked as the Director of Drug and Alcohol Abuse for Essex County. Joseph was also an avid fisherman, a member of the PBA and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.

 

Joseph is predeceased by his parent, John and Georgina Pariso (nee McNamara). He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years Joan Pariso (nee Fattorusso) of Cream Ridge; his stepchildren, Maria Amato and husband Victor of Cream Ridge and John Balasmo and wife Nikki of West Long Branch; his children John R. Pariso of Freehold, Joanne Pariso of Keansburg and Suzanne Snyder and husband Chris of Howell; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM on, October 25, 2018 at the Church of the Assumption, located at 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown NJ 08562. Interment will follow with military honors at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. All arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joseph’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org .
