Gerald “Jerry” J. Fowler, Jr., age 66, of New Egypt and formerly of Hamilton Square, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home. He was born in Trenton on February 3, 1952 to the late Elizabeth and Gerald J. Fowler, Sr. Jerry grew up in the Trenton area, graduating from St. Anthony’s High School and later getting his Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from Trenton State College. He also served proudly in the Nation Guard. Jerry was a very successful neon sculptor and had his work displayed in several art shows. He worked for and later went on to own JD Lesh Signs. He was a very talented and devoted man. As much as he loved his work, he loved his family more. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Gerald Fowler, Sr.; by his nephew Ryan Fowler and by his mother-in-law Olga McCarthy.
He leaves behind his adored wife of over 30 years, Elaine Fowler (nee McCarthy) of New Egypt; his son Christopher Fowler and wife Kristen of North Hanover and their 3 children, Grace, Gavin and Gabriel; his stepson David Comfort and wife Susan of Franklin MA and their 2 children Chelsea and Cole; his brother Kevin Fowler and wife Sally and their 2 children, Kevin (Laura) and Stephan; his sisters, Kathy DiMartino and husband Dominick and their son Nick, Beth Shabazian and husband Rob and their 2 children Rob and Sean; his 2 sister-in-laws, Sharon Stout and Donna McCarthy and their children; his aunt Kathy Callahan; along with several cousins and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4PM to 7PM at the Church of the Assumption, located at 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown NJ 08562. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the same location on the following day, Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11AM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerry’s memory to the Musella Foundation (Brain Tumor Research), 1100 Peninsula Blvd, Hewlett, NY 11557. All arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt NJ.
