Obituary of Dolores V. Marabuto

On the morning of June 30, 2019, Dolores Marabuto passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, New Jersey, surrounded by her family. Dolores was 81 at the time of her passing.

Born on November 9, 1937, to the late Manuel and Palmira DaSilva of Newark, New Jersey, Dolores led a full life dedicated to those she loved.

Dolores truly had a zest for life, enjoying dancing, shopping and taking trips to the beach and to Atlantic City with her husband John. You could always count on Dolores to bring energy and a sense of humor to any gathering she attended. Her time was spent most joyfully surrounded by her family and friends. Her generosity towards those close to her was like no other. Dolores felt most fulfilled when she was giving back to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Marabuto. They have been residents of New Egypt, New Jersey, for over 30 years. Together Dolores and John raised their 5 children, Deborah Reynolds and husband Gordon, John Marabuto and wife Laura, Lorraine Logan and husband Travis, Anthony Marabuto and wife Bernadette and Joseph Marabuto and wife Caroline. Dolores is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, Dawn, Manny, Bruce, Marialaina, Michael, Sabrina, Macy, Thomas, Ashley, Travis, Rachel, AJ, Emily and Evan; and by her 12 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, July 5, 2019 for a Memorial Service from 3PM to 6PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, New Jersey 08533. A reception will follow at the Jensen’s Community Clubhouse, Cream Ridge, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dolores’ memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38101.
