Obituary of Lila S. Davis

Lila S. Davis, age 103, of New Egypt, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, July 8, 2019 at home. She was born in New Egypt to the late Ellis and Alice Stillwell on January 10, 1916. Lila worked as a bookkeeper for several companies before her retirement. She was a longtime resident of New Egypt before moving to Punta Gorda, Florida with her husband, where they resided for over 20 years. In 2005, they returned to New Egypt. Lila was a devoted and heavily involved member at the Cleveland United Methodist Church in Florida. Here in New Jersey, she dedicated her time and love to the New Egypt Volunteer Fire Company for several years as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, Lila enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading and spending time gardening. She had a great sense of humor and an even greater love for her family. Lila was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend who will be deeply missed.

 Lila is predeceased by her adored husband, Stanley H. Davis.  She leaves behind her daughter, Doris Reynolds of New Egypt; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.

Funeral services and interment for Lila will be private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Lila’s memory to the New Egypt Vol. Fire Company, P.O. Box 177, New Egypt NJ 08533.
