Obituary of Evelyn M. Madden

Evelyn M. Madden, age 90, of Westampton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Virtua-Willingboro Hospital in Willingboro, New Jersey. She was born in Ewing Township to the late Harold and Grace Hutchinson on March 2, 1930. Evelyn worked in retail for several years as a Manager. She enjoyed taking care of her family, tending to her home and her plants. Evelyn loved flowers, specifically African Violets, among others. She always kept her green thumb and had beautiful house plants. Evelyn liked to crochet and was crafting for as long as anyone can remember. She used to make different seasonal crafts, keeping some and selling others. She was strong willed, talented and deeply loved. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be sorely missed. Evelyn is predeceased by her parents; by her adored husband, Joseph M. Madden, Jr.; by her sister, Dorothy Lidholm; and by her brother, Harold W. Hutchinson, Jr. She leaves behind her two daughters, Debra Robertson and husband Michael of Westampton and Diane Hill and husband Robert of Phillipsburg; her five grandchildren, Jennifer Howse, Richard Freeman and wife Alexandra, Dominick Hill, Meghan Snyder and husband Andrew and Robert Hill, Jr.; her two great-grandchildren, Christian and Aria Freeman; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Services for Evelyn are being held private at the convenience of the family. She will be joining her husband at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Evelyn’s memory to the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Checks can be made out to: Treasurer – State of NJ and in the memo line BCWCD, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. All arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt, NJ.
