Catherine Roman, age 90, of Tinton Falls died Monday, May 9 at her residence. Born in New York City, she lived in Elmwood Park, NJ before moving to Tinton Falls in 2002. Catherine had worked as a nurse at Fitkin Hospital (now Jersey Shore) in Neptune and also was a school nurse in Elmwood Park. She and her late husband also had rental homes on Long Beach Island for many years. Catherine was a very caring and giving person who gave generously to many charitable organizations. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Carl Roman in 2002 and also by a brother, Charles Kallup. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Bonnie Roman of New Egypt; her grandchildren, Stephen Roman and wife Channing, Cara Roman, Christine Helmlinger and husband Christopher and David Roman; a sister-in-law, Luz Kallup of California; a nephew, K.C. Kallup and she is also survived by many friends at Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls. A memorial service for Catherine will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with calling hours from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
