John P. Dittmer, age 71, of Jobstown, Springfield Twp. died Thursday, August 11 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly. Born in Elizabeth, NJ he was a resident of Springfield Township for the past 40 years and formerly of Country Lakes. John was a retired executive with IBM in Princeton. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Elizabeth and also was a graduate of Villanova University in Philadelphia. John enjoyed shuffleboard, but his biggest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and being involved with their sports. John is survived by his wife, CarolAnn (nee Hannett) Dittmer; a son and daughter-in-law, Deron and Alisa Dittmer of Jacobstown and two grandchildren, Ella and Jarrad Dittmer. Funeral services for John will be held on Tuesday, August 16 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with interment to follow in the Bordentown Cemetery in Bordentown. Calling hours will be on Monday evening, August 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
