Horton, Sr. of New Egypt passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at home. He was 71. He was born and raised in Everett, Pa. He has been a long time resident of New Egypt. Joseph worked 20 plus years for Ocean Spray in Bordentown. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and maintaining his fabulous home. He was the son of the late William and Goldie Horton and brother of the late Thomas and Jimmy Horton. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Grace (Fulmer) Horton of New Egypt; a son and daughter-law, Joseph P. Horton, Jr. and wife Marguerite of Wrightstown; 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Brenda L. Posey and Robert A. Posey, Sr. of Chambersburg, Pa; JoAnn and Richard Danish of Bricktown; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Don and Doris Horton of Chambersburg, Pa.; 2 sisters, Gertrude Helsel of Saxton,Pa. and Lucille Weiser of Hopewell, Pa.; 5 grandchildren, Robert A. Posey, Jr., Patrick L. Posey, Lisa J. Danish, Cynthia L. Horton and Joseph P. Horton III; 4 great-grandchildren, Chloe M. Posey, Braelyn L. Posey, Savanna H. Brace and Paul W. Hartwig III; Several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Friday at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, N.J. 08533. Burial will follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery, Schoolhouse Rd. in Jacobstown. Visitation will be Thursday, 7 to 9p.m. at the funeral home.
