Obituary of Walter B. Moore

Walter B. Moore, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2021. He was born in Moorestown, NJ on March 3, 1928 to the late Marie (nee Sexton) and P. Stanley Moore. He grew up in New Egypt and attended Allentown High where he excelled in athletics, primarily baseball. Walt was very proud that he had a tryout for the Philadelphia Phillies while still in his teens. Later he became an avid golfer and played regularly into his late 70’s. He particularly enjoyed taking golf vacations. In 1953 Walt enlisted in the 44th Class of the NJ State Police and served 28 years. When he retired he had achieved the rank of Lieutenant. During those years he also continued his education, earning a B.A. and M.A. from Trenton State College. After retiring, Walt worked in the Casino industry in Atlantic City in the security field. He retired as Director of Security from Bally’s Grand Casino. Walt and his wife, Robin, then moved to Florida where he enjoyed retired life. In January 2020 they returned to New Jersey and settled in Whiting. In addition to his parents, Walt is predeceased by his son Craig. Walt is survived by his loving wife Robin (nee Zucco) Moore; his four children, Vicki Feo and husband Steve of Massachusetts, Neil and wife SueLin of Mt. Laurel, Glenn Moore and wife Patti of Browns Mills, and Jill of Browns Mills. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life which will be held on October 2, 2021 at 1:00PM at the New Egypt Elks located at 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
