Doris O. Lawrence, age 88, of Cream Ridge passed away Sunday, November 6 at RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Cream Ridge, she was a lifetime area resident. Doris retired from the Bank of America in New Egypt after many years of service and multiple changes in the bank’s name. She also worked at Robson’s Farm Market and Greenhouses. Doris was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Yardville and a member of the Deborah Home Chapter. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo with the Young at Heart Senior Group in Cookstown. Doris was proud to have canned 350 jars of pickles along with her husband as a benefit for Deborah. Doris was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Mabel (VanHise) Oakerson; her siblings, Clarence, Marvin, Charles and Daniel Oakerson and Evelyn Gaiser and Ethelyn Maginnis and by her husband, John B. Lawrence. She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Lawrence of New Egypt and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Doris will be held on Monday, November 14 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.TilghmanFH.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery in Jacobstown.
