Obituary of Mary L. Rock

Mary L. Rock, age 86, of Wrightstown passed away Saturday, August 19 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Boston, MA, Mary was a longtime resident of Bloomfield, NJ before moving to Cherry Hill, NJ for a few years and then moving in with her daughter in Wrightstown.

Mary was a 3rd Grade Teacher for 25 years at the Linden Avenue Elementary School in Glen Ridge, NJ.  Mary was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield.  She was a member of the NJEA and also was a volunteer tutor and teacher after her retirement.  Mary enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading but most of all she was dedicated to her family.

Mary was predeceased by two children, Katharine and Frank; a sister, Ellen Martin and a grandson, Timothy Pizzute.  She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Jayne and John Wilpert of Wrightstown, NJ, Martha and Kevin Cullen of Hingham, MA and Julie and Mike Cannon of Atlantic Highlands, NJ; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Sue Lyons of Chelmsford, MA; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held on Wednesday, August 23 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road (Route 537), Wrightstown, NJ 08562 with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.  Calling hours will be on Tuesday evening, August 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.TilghmanFH.com).
