Charles F. Barker, age 77, of Forked River, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, December 4, 2017 at home. He was born in Ewing to the late Edwin and Edith Barker. Charles spent a few years in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and worked as for Upper Freehold Township in Buildings and Grounds for over 25 years until retirement. He was a dedicated member of the Lacey Elks Lodge 2518 Dock Committee, loved Nascar and watching football; especially his Eagles. Charles also had a love for camping at Colonial Woods in PA, boating and spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind hearted, generous and loving man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Charles is predeceased by his parents and his son Chuck Barker. He leaves behind his adored wife Wanda Pullen of Forked River; his son Brian Barker of Florence; his step-children, Heather Caine and her husband Robert of Vineland and Gary Decker of Cream Ridge; his three grandchildren Dylan, Cole and Bryce; his nephew and dear friend Ed Barker; great-niece and nephew Eddie and Kimmie Barker; along with several siblings, extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 5PM to 7PM and again on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 10AM to 11AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533 (TilghmanFH.com). A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11AM. Interment will follow at the Cream Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charles’ memory to a charity of your choice.
