Obituary of Norman J. Eckley

Norman J. Eckley, age 87, of Barnegat and formerly of Cookstown, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Barnegat Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. He was born in Philadelphia PA to the late Walter and Della Eckley on March 19, 1931 and attended the Milton Hershey School for Boys in Hershey, PA. Norman met the love of his life, Wanda Ivins in 1961. They married in 1969 and the couple had four children. Norman dedicated his life to Ministry and served at the Cookstown United Methodist Church for 13 years before retiring. He enjoyed reading, gardening and going to the beach. Most importantly, Norman loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He was a sweet, kind and devoted man who would help anyone in need. He will be remembered for his warmth, his ever giving heart and his love for all. Norman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Norman is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Della Eckley (nee Higgenbothem). He leaves behind his adored wife of nearly 50 years, Wanda Eckley (nee Ivins) of Barnegat; his four children, Donna Fisher and her husband Richard of Browns Mills, Keith Eckley of Florence, Robert Eckley and his wife Mildred of Cream Ridge, and Shani Pucylowski and her husband Jeffrey of Barnegat; his eight grandchildren, Nicole Czeipel, Lauren Eckley, Jennifer Eckley, Ronald Fisher, Nicole Chasey, Ian End, Ryan Pucylowski and Patrick Pucylowski; his two great-grandchildren, Otto Brooks Chasey and Olivia Joy Chasey; along with several dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 10:30AM to 12:30PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 12:30. Inurnment will follow at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
