Obituary of Lynne V. Bowden

Lynne V. Bowden, age 69, of Cookstown, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. She was born in Philadelphia on August 12, 1949 to the late Milton and Ruth Cooper. Lynne married Ronald L. Bowden in 1968 and the couple had two children. She loved being a mother and had a passion for animals, especially dogs. She also spent as much time as she could at the beach, enjoyed all types of music and was an exceptional writer. Lynne enjoyed writing mostly poetry, portraying a sense of peace, love and compassion. She worked for several years as a bookkeeper at the Church of the Assumption before her retirement. Lynne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.

 

Lynne is predeceased by her parents Milton Cooper and Ruth Handel (nee Eiseman) and her beloved husband Ronald L. Bowden.

 

She leaves behind her two daughters, Kellie Ann Bowden of Florence NJ and Amy Lynne Huckestein of Columbus GA; her grandchildren, Marlee, Deaven, Adrianna, Braeden, Noah and Timothy; her brother Mitchell Cooper and his wife Lynn of Austin TX; her step-brother Rod Cooper of FL; step-sister Lori Landers of FL; nieces Sandy and Sheryl; great nieces and nephews Troy, Brandon, Michael and Kristi; and her dear friend Hal Ketterer.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 6PM to 8PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533, with a service to begin at 7:30PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, September 17, 2018 from 10AM to 11AM with burial to follow at the Church of the Assumption Cemetery on Evergreen Road. As per the family’s request, flowers are welcome, but if you would prefer to make a donation, please do so to a charity of your choice in honor of Lynne.
