We were crazy New York outsiders who moved into Miss Wikoff's house in his tranquil little corner of Cream Ridge. One of the first (of many) pieces of advice he gave me was "if you want to make a friend, ask for a favor". I followed that advice repeatedly with him. Harold was kind, and gentle and thoughtful. He seldom spoke a bad word about anyone, even those who greatly annoyed him. He was massively fun to golf with, sometimes inadvertently. I can remember botching a first hole and him turning to me and saying "starting like that is something you just can't recover from, you might as well go home". The hilarious thing about it is he said it without malice, it was just his observation.
I adored HB. He and Thelma were great to both Charlotte and me. I'll carry his remembrance for the rest of my days.
Thelma and Tina
I am deeply saddened by the loss that you and Tina have encountered.
My heart goes out to you during this time of sadness and may our prayers serve as comfort to you and all your family members.
HB was one of the kindest and most gentle souls God put on this earth. Many memories of HB and John Begley sitting together in
the choir loft with a twinkle in their eyes but the "devil" in actions.
Family and friends are coming together online to create a special keepsake. Every memory left on the online obituary will be automatically included in this book.
