Marion Gilliland, age 87, of Cream Ridge, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at home with her loved ones by her side. She was born in New Brunswick to the late Joesph and Mary (Varga) Balint on September 17, 1932. Marion worked as a cashier at the Grand Union grocery store in North Brunswick. She was a member of North Brunswick Reformed Church, along with the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post in North Brunswick, the Millstone Seniors, and Eastern Star of Milltown. Marion was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Marion is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Lester Gilliland, her son Thomas L. Gilliland, her brother Andrew Mihanski, and her three sisters Elsie Pollard, Margaret Hartley and Eleanor Pinizzotto.
She leaves behind her son Christopher Gilliland and wife Carol Jean of Jackson, her daughter-in-law Kathie Gilliland of Monroe Township; her four grandchildren, David Gilliland of East Brunswick, Sandra Rivera and husband Jay of Robbinsville, Caelynn Grossman of Franklin Park, and Grant Grossman of Hoboken; and her four great-grandchildren, Mason, Ariella, Isabella, and Lena; along with with several nieces and nephews.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Marion will be laid to rest with her husband at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. All arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
