Sophia Theresa Pietras, 92, wife of 67 years to John T. Pietras of Columbus, NJ entered eternal rest Thursday, May 7, 2020. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Justyna (Skorupa) Bielamowicz, sister of the late Stanley Bielamowicz and Frances H. (Bielamowicz) Worchick, Great-Grandmother of the late Luke Joshua Butera and Jonathan Paul Butera. She is survived by four children and their families; Son Thomas and Stacey Pietras, daughter Patricia and Lee Doctor, son Robert and Lynn Pietras, and daughter Christine and the late Thomas Hoffman. Survivors also include 5 Grandchildren (Monica Butera and husband, Mark, Zachary Hoffman, Matthew Hoffman, Jacob Pietras, Bryce Pietras), 1 great-grandchild (Dominic Butera) and several nieces and nephews. Sophie worked at Lenox by carving clay into the molds as well as for Westinghouse as a typist prior to devoting herself tirelessly to being a full-time homemaker. Sophie enjoyed cooking for her family, crocheting and sewing clothing, as well as spending time with family and friends. She was known for having a beautiful flower garden and for showing love and care to all who came across her. Due to current restrictions, services for Sophie will be private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt. Her final resting place will be in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
