Obituary of Rita R. Kopiak

Rita R. Kopiak, age 92, of Bayville passed away Thursday, November 12 at Tallwoods Care Center in Bayville. Born in Edwardsville, PA, she was a resident of Bayville for the past 8 years and previously lived in Casa Grande, AZ for 20 years and Howell, NJ before that.
Rita worked as a bookkeeper at Rebuth Steel in Newark. She was a parishioner at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande and sang in the choir. Rita enjoyed crocheting and sewing and loved to cook especially Polish food. She also enjoyed going to the drag strip to watch her family race. Her favorite saying when things went wrong was “It’s not a life” but this time it is. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Rita was predeceased in 2011 by her beloved husband Harry Kopiak who was a Newark, NJ Police Officer (Ret.). She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and John Melendy of Bayville; a grandson, Michael Melendy and wife Kristina of Jackson; a granddaughter, Carrie Melendy of Bayville and two great grandchildren, Michael John Melendy and Giani Melendy.
Funeral services and burial in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ with her beloved husband Harry will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rita’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.act.alz.org/donate).
