Obituary of Peter H. Culton

Peter H. Culton, age 72, of New Egypt passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at RWJ University Hospital in Hamilton. Born in New Haven, CT to the late Harry and Eleanor (Lach) Culton, he was a New Egypt resident since 1998 and formerly of North Brunswick.
Peter was a parishioner at the Church of the Assumption – St. Isidore the Farmer Parish. Peter served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1971. He retired from the New Brunswick, NJ Fire Department after 25 years of dedicated service. Peter enjoyed doing woodworking projects as a hobby, traveling with his family and cooking at home. His favorite holiday was Halloween where he would display his Halloween Village and carve pumpkins with his grandchildren. But most of all, he loved being with his family.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia (Bekiarian) Culton; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and John Heyer of Browns Mills; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan Bannio of Pelzer, SC; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Peter will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption – St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 28 Monmouth Road (Route 537) Wrightstown, NJ 08562 with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. Calling hours will be on Wednesday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at the church.
Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Peter’s name can be made to the NJ Fireman’s Home, Attn: Finance, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005.
