Obituary of Linda A. Howard

Linda A. Howard, age 69, of New Egypt passed away Monday, June 21 at Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro. Born in Camden, NJ, to the late Lewis and Florence (Stewart) Snyder, she was a longtime (over 40 years) resident of New Egypt.
Linda was an elementary school teacher for 4 years in Lindenwold, NJ then 28 years in New Egypt, most of her teaching career as a Kindergarten Teacher. She crafted most of her life, loved to decorate her house for any and all holidays and enjoyed gardening. In her retirement she has enjoyed traveling both abroad and in the USA. Linda was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing Bunco and Mahjong with her friends and loved to have adventures with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Lewis and Florence Snyder. She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Shermon “Jim” Howard; two daughters, Jennifer Whitehouse and husband Glen of Skillman, NJ and Kimberly Lawrence and husband Jess of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Ayrton and Britton Whitehouse and a sister, Susan Mertz and husband Bill of West Chester, PA.
Funeral services for Linda will be held on Friday, July 2 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening July 1 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM and again on Friday morning from 11:00 AM until Noon at the funeral home.
Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Linda’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or to the Mid Atlantic English Springer Spaniel Rescue (www.maessr.org/inmemoryof.aspx).
