Our dear father Raymond Curtis Sr. 86, of New Egypt, NJ passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
Raymond was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Ruth Strandberg (nee Hansen) and Lawrence Curtis Sr. also predeceased by his step-father Axel Strandberg. Raymond went to school at Snyder High School in Jersey City- after his academics moving straight into the working world. His early career began as owner/operator of a gas station on Tonnelle Ave in Jersey City, then moving on to be a foreman in the Dockbuilders Local 1556. At the age of 78 he retired as owner operator of RC Trucking.
Raymond was predeceased by his loving wife Vivian Curtis, 78 whom he was married to for 58 faithful years. Survived by his two sons, Raymond Curtis and wife Bernadine, Scott Curtis and his wife Annie; four grandchildren, Craig and his wife Laurel, Cassidy, Kendall, and Olivia; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Greydon; and his brother, Larry Curtis, 89.
Some of Rays joys in life were teaching his children and grandchildren to ride horses (along with other people), watching them ride at their shows, winning ribbons, team penning with his friends and family, and listening to his country music.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt 08533. A viewing service will be held from 3PM to 7:30PM with a funeral service starting at 7:30PM
