Obituary of John C. Mullen
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John C. Mullen, age 63, of St. Augustine, FL passed away Tuesday, September 28 at AdventHealth Hospital in Palm Coast, FL. Born in Trenton, NJ, he lived in the New Egypt area in his younger years and lived in Delran before moving to Florida a year ago.
John’s world was his daughter, his wife, his German Shepherds (Ozzy and Ana) and his AA friendships. He loved his tight knit group of friends…many of which span well over 30 years, riding his motorcycle with many of them. “Live to Ride, Ride to Live”. He was a completely selfless man who took great joy in helping others wherever he could…never looking for the spotlight. He very much enjoyed music, many different kinds of music and had a great singing voice. On most days if he wasn’t riding his Harley, you could find him tinkering with it in the garage, listening to music or finding some household chore that needed to be done…never one to sit idle, always busy. The last few years, he started working on jigsaw puzzles, and also liked to read. He was a spiritual, family loving man…
John was predeceased by his parents, William E. and Bernice E. (nee Sigley) Mullen and a brother, William E. Mullen, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Gina Mullen; his daughter, Jessie Lynn Shaw and husband Corey; his bonus children, Alyssa O’Neill and husband Mike and Justin Codes; a granddaughter, Sophia Shaw; two grandsons, Collin Shaw and Christopher Shaw; nine siblings, Patricia Schnorbus and husband William, Michele Bernard and husband Richard, Susan Turner and husband Rick, Thomas E. Mullen, Rebecca Mullen, Laurie Warren and husband Jeffrey, Robert Mullen and wife Connie, Jodi Newman and husband Jack and James Mullen and wife Ashley and many nieces and nephews who loved him so much.
