Hilda M. Kotsch, age 82, of Jacobstown, passed away peacefully on April 6, at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell. Born in Jersey City to G. Norman and Florence Schafer, the family of 6 moved to Stanhope when she was nearing 12 years old.
She attended Netcong High School and served as a plane spotter during the Cold War period in the 1950’s.
Hilda was a Brownie leader, and an elementary school teacher in Crosswicks, Bordentown, and Lawrence after she graduated from Trenton State Teachers College. She later returned to college, earning her Masters Degree.
Hilda and her husband Alfred purchased Chopin Piano Company, which was one of the largest Steinway Piano dealers in the US.
Hilda is survived by her husband, Alfred, her 2 sons, Ken and Jeff and their wives, her 2 grandchildren, Jackson and Bryan, her loving sister, and her brother and his wife, many nieces and nephews, and her best friend Renee Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
