Obituary of Nicholas Marketti

Nicholas Marketti, age 94, of Falls Church, VA and formerly of Wrightstown died Friday, March 21 at Sunrise of Falls Church in Falls Church, VA. Born in Gallitzin, PA he was a resident of Wrightstown before moving to Falls Church six years ago. Mr. Marketti had worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad before joining the Army and serving for 30 years. He also worked in civil service at Ft. Dix and McGuire AFB. Nicholas had been a member of the Elks and active with the Crippled Children?s Committee, a member of the American Legion and was a member of the Gallitzin, PA Sportsman?s Association. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elsie Marketti. Nicholas is survived by his former wife, Barbara of Florida; two step-daughters, Barbara Miller of North Miami Beach, FL and Jean Pollock of Wrightstown; a brother, Frank Marketti of Gallitzin, PA; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and by many wonderful friends and neighbors at Spartan Village in Wrightstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 28 at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Assumption, 76 Evergreen Road in New Egypt, with Father Joseph Farrell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will held on Friday morning from 12:00 Noon to 1:45 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
