Obituary of David W. Lipscomb

David W. Lipscomb, age 74, of Manchester Township, NJ. formerly of Viera, FL. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at home on Friday, July 7, 2023. Over the past 45 years, Dave has been employed and retired from the field of Mechanical Engineering to which he worked for some 35 years at corporations like United Engineers of Philadelphia, Stone & Webster, and recently Washington Professional Systems (WPS) of Mount Laurel, NJ. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Tabernacle, NJ. He was the VP for Parents Without Partners (PWP). Dave loved traveling around the country in his RV with his wife Marge. He enjoyed singing karaoke and playing games with his grandchildren. Dave served 18 years in the United States Army and Army Reserve, and received many awards, metals, and accommodations. He started his military service at the age of 17 and over the next 18 years attended many leadership schools. Then he was assigned as a Senior Drill Instructor with the 78th Division Leadership Academy at Fort Dix for a year before he resigned his duties at the rank of E-7 (Sergeant First Class) of Army Infantry 11B4X. Simultaneously, while working full time, and military part time, he also served his community. Dave served seven years as the Youth Director to the Christ Episcopal Church of Woodbury, NJ. He served as a special police officer for the city of Woodbury, NJ. For three years he was assigned as the Secretary to the South Jersey Reserves Police Association. Dave was an avid toastmaster and served as a Vice President to club #3160 Executive Campus Toastmasters of Cherry Hill, NJ. Prior to moving to Florida, he served a one-year term as the President to the Holiday Village East Condo Association in Mount Laurel, NJ. While in Florida, he served for eight years on their community courtesy and patrol squad. Dave is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret J. Lipscomb (Honey); his parents, Richard and Frances Lipscomb; and his brother Gary D.Lipscomb. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Lipscomb, Lillian DiPol, Sarah Jordan, Connie Eisaman, and Janie Dunleavy; his children, Carol Gallagher (Joe), Gary Lipscomb (Mery), Janet Finch (Ray), Rebecca Shears, Brian Lipscomb, Jeffery Klein (Angie), Tommy Klein, and Amy Holmes (James); his grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Mason, Connor, Ryan, Melany, Andrew, Samantha (Kevin), Shelby (Derek), Hayley, Ryan, Julia, Kendall (Kevin), Kara (Briley), Kristen; and his great-grandchildren, Samuel, Ryker, Alina, Cole, Nolan, and Owen Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life service at Tabernacle Church of Christ located at 160 Carranza Road, Tabernacle, NJ 08088 on July 22, 20203 at 11 AM. Interment will take place on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11AM at BGWCD Veteran Memorial Cemetery located at 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tabernacle Church of Christ for Camp Manatawny.
