A recipe Kim shared with me many years ago. We would make it for our families for the holidays and throughout the year. Everyone loved it. Recipes and food was something Kim and I loved talking about almost daily.

Over a decade ago, Kim gave me her Leisure Arts magazine from January 28, 1992. After all these years, Kim, my Mom, & I would still talk about stitching & what projects I was working on. Inside the magazine is a 1991 award winning mini sampler that I have been wanting to stitch. After Kim passed I knew I had to stitch something special for her. Since this pattern came from her, I wanted this to be it. I swapped colors to add in Kim’s lavender, altered the pattern to have Kim’s initials, & added a heart.
With love,
Sherry Idell

No matter my age, Kim was always a joy to talk to & be around. From being a little girl visiting cross stitch shops all over with my Mom & Kim to growing old. Instead of reading stories, I was reading cross stitch patterns. She looked at me like a fellow stitcher not a little kid. I would hang out with Kim in her cross stitch store looking at all the pretty pictures in the books. Every visit you could see & hear all about her love for stitching & black & white cows. I still remember her cow curtains like it was yesterday. As I grew older & into a teenager, I still found Kim to be a delight to be around. My Mom, Kim, and I would travel the east coast states just to go to yankee candle stores. It wouldn’t matter how many times we went, each trip brought new excitement for each of us. As an adult Kim was the first to start menu planning for any event I was having. My lack of food knowledge never bothered her & she took over making amazing food that everyone loved. As the years went by Kim still remained there cheering me on with whatever I was doing. Even when she thought I was nuts saying August 1st is the start of autumn & letting her know the trees are changing day after day. Almost 40 years later Kim was still interested in what I was up to. Kim is a beautiful woman & is missed so deeply. She has always been like my second Mother.

She was very much loved and valued. She always made the best food and loved her cows! Growing up I loved watching tv with her and my uncle in their living room. I would ask a lot of questions to get to know her and my uncle better in their likes for the world and dislikes. Their interests were always fascinating no matter the topic. One time we were eating Chinese food in the living room and I got excited to be able to spend some time with her. Because sometimes she wouldn’t always come out or she wouldn’t feel well but that was a time I cherish the most. It was one of my last times seeing her and I will always think of her as the best hostess. She will be missed and May she rest in peace, Love Emily.

My most cherished memories of Kim were her bear hugs, her smile, her laugh, her southern home cooked meals and the friendship cake she made for my bridal shower, her love of cows and my beloved cow (Charcoal), her stubborn streak, and the comical way she scalded her husband Charlie (my brother) and called him by his first name Charles in her most southern drawl. Miss you and love you.❤

Many fond memories of Kim, and the Judson family, going back to 1961. My wife, Juanita, would often baby sit her and Sandra. Our two families were very close over the years, enjoying visits, picnics, celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Like her mother, she was a gourmet cook especially adept in making wonderful cakes. Kim was a devoted loving friend, always expressing her love with a hug and embrace. When Juanita passed in 2018, Kim and Charlie visited and comforted me long past midnight. I am moved and proud to accept being named her "Godfather." I loved Kim and shall never forget her. Raymond Russell
