Christa E. Karycinski, age 79, long time resident of Browns Mills, formerly of New Egypt, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Jackson. She was born on January 25, 1944 in Nuremberg, Germany to the late Leonhard and Ann (nee Eckstein) Schaefer. Christa was born and raised in Germany and moved to the United States at the age of 13. She enjoyed reading, making floral arrangements, and loved animals. Anyone Christa met became an immediate friend. She has accomplished so much in her life. There are no amount of words that could describe a person like Christa. Pure beauty resonated from her heart and soul. Family meant everything to her. Christa was a loving wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend that will be deeply missed. Christa is predeceased by her parents, Leonhard and Ann Schaefer. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas Karycinski; her daughter Kirsten Hill and husband Evan; her brother, Gerd Schafer and wife Marla; her two brother-in-laws, Edward Karycinski and wife Mary, and Andrew Karycinski, and her nieces and nephews, Fran Karycinski and husband Eric V., Robert Karycinski, Christa Schafer, Martin Schafer, and Max Schafer.
