Frank P. Rock, age 94, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. He was born on October 28,1929 in Boston, Massachusetts to Francis P. and Jane (nee. Brady) Rock. Frank attended Boston College High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1946 and was a WWII Veteran. After his service in the Army, he graduated from The University of Miami, Class of 1952. Frank was appointed as a Special Agent with the FBI in 1954 and was assigned to the NYC office of the FBI, working on Organized Crime and bank robberies for 10 years. After leaving the FBI, Frank was a corporate security director for Ralston Purina, Westchester Co. NY. He was also an adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice and Security Management at Western Connecticut State University, for many years. After retirement from private industry, he and his wife, Marcia, moved to Sarasota, Florida. Frank served as the chairman of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Society of Retired FBI Agents, Sarasota, Florida. He was a member of the Sarasota Power Squadron, for many years, teaching courses in boating safety and piloting. Frank was predeceased by his beloved son, Frank Jr., his wife of 30 years, Marcia Rock, his grandson, Timothy P. Pizzute, a brother, Robert Rock, a sister, Carol Dobbyn, his grandson-in-law Nyall Sheldon and his ex-wife Mary Lyons Rock. Frank is survived by three daughters: Jayne Wilpert and Julie Cannon of NJ and Martha Cullen, of Vermont. He leaves behind his much-loved Grandchildren: Kathleen Sheldon, Maryanne Chiazza/husband Brandon, Chelsea Cannon, Gregory Pizzute, John Wilpert/wife Michelle, Patrick Cullen, Brendan Cullen/wife Sondra. Step grandchildren: Adam Wilpert and Amy Pierce/husband Tyler Pierce. Frank was also blessed with 10 Great Grandchildren: Dylan, Brielle, Kayleigh, Isabella, Evelyn, Emersyn, Ellisyn, Timmy, Leif and Torren. Frank held a very special affection for his sons-in-law: Michael Cannon, Kevin Cullen and John Wilpert (dec) and long time friend Stan Duncan, and nephew Philip Dobbyn. A memorial gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish/ Church of the Assumption 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00am in the church. Interment will be in the Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity in memory of Frank would be greatly appreciated.
