My name is Roger S. I owned the corner property at Sykesville Rd and 537. New construction. I had to modify my driveway due to an old well by the road on Sykesville rd side. We planted wildflowers in a section over the well on a 10ft x 10ft plot. Jimmy stopped one day and complimented the flowers. I explained why they were there. For the rest of the summer when the workers were headed back to chesterfield they would stop out front and put a bunch of fresh flowers on our porch. That was Jimmy from what I learned. Good man and lover of all things in nature.

Jimmy was my cousin. Although I did not keep in touch directly, my father Bernie would proudly provide updates. I remember as a child that Jimmy was different - highly intelligent and creative. As an adult I will remember Jimmy as humble and hard working. Someone not afraid to explore the possibilities of untraditional farming.

A picture I took with the guys in the field when I worked for Jimmy he always made sure that the guys looked after me. He always made sure I was okay made sure I had water , lunch never a time he didn’t ask if I needed something. Jimmy, you have touched many peoples lives.

I love Jimmy more like family than a friend I worked for him when I was in my early 20s he would give anyone the shirt off his back. He is the most genuine caring man I have ever met. Him and my Poppop and dad were great friends had good times and great stories. Jimmy always had a great story to tell and would make you laugh until you cried. My dad is gonna miss coming to visit and talk to you all the time. Rest in paradise Jimmy we love you, Cheyenne Cawley

Jimmy always had a historic or story of something of nature to share whenever we visited. He was informed, knowledgeable and self educated on this and he shared his expertise. I'll miss his great stories. The community has certainly lost a country gentleman , a self made, hardworking man. God bless his family.

An Ordinary Farmer plows his fields, plants his seeds, manages and sells his crop. An Extraordinary Farmer teaches others how to plant those seeds and mentors them to be better farmers. He shares his knowledge of agriculture and his crop with his community. Jimmy was an extraordinary farmer and an even better friend. People that are extraordinary are remarkable and that is exactly what Jimmy was to me. He taught me the ins and outs of farming and the importance of patience and kindness. Because of Jimmy, I will always live by this saying, Overcome the notion that you must be regular. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary. Jimmy was a remarkable teacher, friend and man and I will always cherish our friendship. Love, Hayden Zamensky
