Obituary of Edward M. Buniak, Jr.

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edward M. Buniak, Jr. of New Egypt, NJ passed away on Sept. 25, 2024. Ed was born in Elizabeth to Edward M. Buniak, Sr. and Josephine Machowicz. He was raised in Linden, in the army from 1966 to 1969 and was a Viet Nam war veteran. Ed was a 696 union sprinkler fitter for 40 years. After marrying his sweetheart, who lived down the street, they lived in Linden, then Hibbing, Minnesota for a year, then Jackson, NJ. They built their own home in New Egypt where they happily settled for the last 34 years. Ed became a born again Christian in 1973 and totally gave his life to the Lord. He was an elder in his church for 10 years, youth group leader, Sunday school teacher, served on the board of directors for Dr. Dennis Miller in the Philippines, was on various church committees, and recently led a bible study. He was a bit of a dare devil – going to rodeo school and bull riding in the 70’s. He mostly enjoyed being a dad and grandpa and traveling with his family in his camper. Ed will be greatly missed by Barbara, his wife of 52 years, his son, Keith Buniak and daughter Stacy Novatkowski of New Egypt, 3 grandsons – Cody Campbell and his wife, Jessica, Eddie Novatkowski, Alex Novatkowski, granddaughter Samantha and her husband Mike Porzio, his brother Brian Buniak, Sister Caren and her husband George Reilly, brother in law and sister in law Joe and Lindy Baran, brother in law and sister in law Ted and Lori Sutowski, sister in law Patti Wilhelm, sister in law Kathy Buniak, 5 nephews, 1 niece, 1 great nephew and 1 great niece. And lots of friends. He was a wonderful husband, dad, Pa, uncle, brother and friend. We will all miss him. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Ed on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 2 PM to 5 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will take place at 3 PM on Monday, October 7 at the Jackson Baptist Church located at 360 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, NJ 08527.
