Obituary of Ralph E. Walton, III

Ralph E. Walton, III, age 73, of Irving, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2024. He was born on October 5, 1951 in Trenton, NJ to the late Ralph and Margaret Walton. Ralph was a devoted father and family man that will be deeply missed. Ralph graduated from Allentown High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. as a SGT. He served in the Fire Brigade and as a MP. After being discharged from the Marines, he spent the next 45 years trucking. Ralph drove for Chamberlain Barkley, Colonial, Cventan Bros., Gordon Tantum, DeWitt, Shaffer, Panther, and Forward Air. Ralph liked to race trucks at Englishtown Speedway. He enjoyed traveling, and he loved watching westerns, Kungfu, and NASCAR. Ralph is predeceased by his son, John Edward Walton; his mother, Margaret Crawford; his father and step-mother, Ralph, and Dorothy Walton; and his brother and sister, Jerry Hallman and Marlene Bradford. He leaves behind his two daughters, Jennifer Sost, and Denise Keating and husband Carl; seven grandchildren, Coutney Christine, Erica Lynne, Ron, Carl John, Ryan Matthew, Juliette Alma, and Aubree Nicole; his former wife and mother of his children, Mary Ellen Walton; his twin sister, Barbara Farley and husband Don; his brothers, Norman Latham and wife Laurie, and Kenneth Latham and wife Ann Marie; several aunts and uncles, cousins; eleven nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews, including Jack Kamer who followed in his footsteps of becoming a truck driver. Ralph also has many close friends that he considered family, especially the ones he lovingly referred to as “Idiots.” Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Ralph on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 6 PM to 9 PM and again on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the funeral home with interment to follow at BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ralph’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org) or P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
