Louise B. Cordwell, age 78, of Jacobstown died Thursday, January 1 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly. Born in Trenton, she was a longtime resident of New Egypt before moving to Jacobstown four years ago. Louise loved to take care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed collecting things, especially dolls and Hummels. She is survived by her husband, George Cordwell; five children, Doris Hensley & husband Ron of Jacobstown, Betty Gwinn of New Egypt, George R. Cordwell & wife Elvada of Wisconsin, Barbara Muccie & husband Mickey of New Egypt and Marian Stevens & husband Scott of North Carolina; two sisters, Margaret Scully of Florida and Jean Manheart of Jamestown, NY; grandchildren, David, Michelle, Jason, Linda, Tim, Jed, Maria, Duane, Michael, Jaesen and Jenna and great grandchildren, Rebecca, Caleb, Keira, Shawnese, Jaylin, Jarren and Jaeden. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt, with Pastor George Reid, officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery in New Egypt. Calling hours will be on Monday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
