William H. VanHise, age 57, of Riverside died Friday, January 2 at Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro. Born in Mt. Holly, he was a longtime resident of Springfield Township before moving to Florence for two years and then to Riverside for the past two years. Bill had been employed in Security for the BJ?s Wholesale Club Warehouse in Florence. He had also worked for Alexander Plush Mill and Modern Packaging both in Mt. Holly and also had owned a Luncheonette in Columbus. Bill was a former Springfield Township Committeeman and Mayor, a former member of the Springfield Twp. and Juliustown Fire Co., the Springfield Twp. Emergency Squad and the Springfield Twp. Office of Emergency Management. He was a member of the Pemberton Lodge No. 199 of the F.&A.M. and a former instructor for the Burlington County Hunter Education Program. Son of the late Harold & Iona VanHise; Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy (Jarvis) VanHise and his daughter, Michelle VanHise both of Jobstown; a friend, Tammy Rossi and her family of Riverside; an aunt, Mildred Clevenger of Pemberton and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt with Father Chandy, officiating. Burial will follow in Emleys Hill Cemetery in Cream Ridge. Calling hours will be on Monday evening January 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
