Elvera G. Puvel, age 81, of North Hanover Twp. died Monday, June 15 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly. Born in New Brunswick, she was a resident there until moving to North Hanover in 1980. Elvera was a retired supervisor of disbursement control at Rutgers University in New Brunswick and Piscataway. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt, an avid bingo player and loved cats. Elvera is survived by her husband of 61 years, James M. Puvel; three children and their spouses, Patricia Brecka and Marc Kaplan of Brick and Darlene and Glenn Wolverton and James C. and Nancy Puvel all of North Hanover Twp.; nine grandchildren, Erik Brecka, Matthew Brecka, Maureen Wolverton, James J. Puvel, Joshua Puvel, Patrick Wolverton, Jennifer Puvel, Wayne Wolverton and Justina Hue and two great grandchildren, Cody Brecka and Miabella Hue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 76 Evergreen Road in New Egypt, with Father Joseph Farrell, officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in New Egypt. Calling hours will be on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:45 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
