Kenneth W. Thomas, Jr., age 74, of New Egypt passed away Sunday, June 14 at Grace Hospital in Morganton, NC. Born in Port Allegany, PA, he lived in Bradford, PA before joining the United States Air Force in 1955. Ken was stationed at McGuire AFB and was honorably discharged in 1959 and then moved to New Egypt. He was retired as a mechanic from the NJ Department of Transportation and was a Life Member of the New Egypt Volunteer Fire Company and also a member of the National Rifle Association. Ken was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Lois (Palmer) Thomas in April of 2008 and also his parents, Kenneth Sr. and Clella Thomas. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws, Karen and Kent Amburgey of New Egypt and Dawn and Michael Evanko of Morganton, NC; six grandchildren, Kelly and Kyle Amburgey of New Egypt and Thomas, Mark, Sarah and Elizabeth Evanko of Morganton, NC; a brother, Harry Thomas of Covington, GA; a sister, Judy Thomas of Bradford, PA; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Arlene and Richard Zammito of Clearwater, FL and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with calling hours from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
