Obituary of Harry Duke Bailey

Harry ?Duke? Bailey, age 90, of Cream Ridge died Thursday, December 10 at Centra State Medical Center in Cream Ridge. Born in Kirkwood, NJ, he was a resident of Cream Ridge for the past 39 years and formerly of Hightstown. Duke was a graduate of Collingswood High School, an Army veteran of WWII and was a retired warehouse manager for Rickel Home Centers in South Plainfield. In recent years Duke worked as a bagger at the New Egypt Market Place (IGA). He and his late wife were one of the first residents at the Jensen?s Retirement Community in Cream Ridge. Duke was a member of the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt, Jensen?s Community Club and the Young at Hearts in Cookstown. Duke was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy M. Bailey, brothers, Jack and Charles Bailey and sister, Revella ?Dit? Bailey. He is survived by a nephew, Jack Bailey and wife Dolores of Westmont and by a special ?Brother? Allen ?Doc? Horowitz of Cream Ridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 17 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 76 Evergreen Road in New Egypt with Father Joseph Farrell, officiating. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours for Duke will be on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
