Richard Joseph Serry, Sr. of Toms River, NJ died Thursday, May 13, 2010. He was 63 years old. Rich was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School, attended Fordham University and served in the Viet Nam War. Rich worked in food service and was the owner of his own business for many years. He was a NY Mets and Jets fan and loved working as an umpire for local baseball leagues. Rich was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Anna Seery, a brother, Frederick Serry, Jr. and a sister, Patricia Perri. Rich is survived by his wife of 6 years, Dolores Serry; his 5 children, son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. and Rebecca Serry; daughter and daughter-in-law, Nancy and Kimberly Serry Wilson; sons, Andrew, Justin and Joshua Serry; step-son and step-daughter, Scott and Luci Konkoski and grandson Lucas. Funeral services for Rich will be held on Wednesday, May 19 at 2:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. Calling hours for Rich will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
