Obituary of David E. Brusnahan

David E. Brusnahan, age 83, passed away Tuesday, August 24 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Galloway Township after a lengthy illness. Born in Trenton, he was a longtime resident of New Egypt before moving to Mays Landing in 1995. Son of the late John S. and Ann (Clover) Brusnahan, David served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the Battleship New Jersey. He then worked for Public Works in the Trenton area and when he moved to New Egypt he worked for his family?s business, Blunts Furniture Store. David will be remembered for his love of birds, flowers and the horses. He will be surely missed by all of his friends at the Atlantic City Race Track. Dave was predeceased by his wife Adelaide (Blum) Brusnahan, a daughter, Debra (Brusnahan) Blessing and four brothers, John, Harry, Paul and Dicky Brusnahan. He is survived by his loving grandson, Cody Ryan Blessing; many nieces and nephews and his loving sister-in-law, Eleanor Brusnahan of Trenton. Graveside services for Dave will be held on Friday, August 27 at 1:00 PM at the Jacobstown Cemetery, Schoolhouse Road in Jacobstown under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dave?s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
