Philip C. Gendron, age 65, of Browns Mills passed away Friday, April 8 at home after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Born in Boston, MA, he was a resident of New Jersey most of his life, Browns Mills since 1974 and Trenton before that. Phil was a 1964 graduate of Trenton High School and also served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 dedicated years, working in both the Trenton and Fort Dix Post Offices. He subsequently worked in the Pemberton Township School District. Phil was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Pemberton and also coached Little League Baseball and soccer. He loved the outdoors, especially kayaking and fishing. Phil was an active member of the Pine Barrens Bass Master Fishing Club. He always wanted ?Just One More Cast?. Phil is survived by his best friend and wife of 40 years, Irene (nee Price) Gendron; son Scott Gendron and his fianc?e Windy Sprouse of Staunton, VA; son Noel Gendron and beloved daughter-in-law Tara of Browns Mills and grandchildren Brian, Brianna, Ashley, Jordyn and Tyler. Phil is also survived by his pug Misty and greyhound Dickens. Funeral services for Phil will be held on Tuesday, April 12 at 10:00 AM at Grace Episcopal Church, 43 Elizabeth Street in Pemberton with Rev. Jane Brady officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill, NJ. Calling hours will be on Monday evening, April 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Phil?s name may be made to the Abramson Cancer Center, 3400 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
