Albert Hopkins, age 89, of New Egypt died Saturday, November 10 at Hamilton Continuing Care Center in Hamilton Twp. Born in New Egypt, he was a lifetime area resident. Albert served in the US Army during World War II and fought in the Central Europe and Rhineland campaigns. He was a retired truck driver for Liedtka Trucking in Trenton and was a member of the American Legion Post 455 in New Egypt and the Teamsters Union Local 701 in Trenton. Albert was predeceased by his sisters, Evelyn Melton and Helen Van Arsdale. He is survived by a daughter, Candy Lewis of Frisco, TX; four sons, Albert Hopkins and wife Joyce of Rowlett, TX, Wally Hopkins and wife Linda of New Egypt, Bryan Hopkins of Manahawkin and Thomas Hopkins and wife Teresa Hemphill of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren and a sister, Ella Bakley of Jackson. Funeral services for Albert will be held on Tuesday, November 13 at 2:30 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:30 PM at the funeral home.
