Fritz "Opa" Viereck, age 93, of Melbourne, FL died Saturday, November 17 at home. Born in Oelhausen, Germany, he was a resident of Chesterfield, NJ before moving to Melbourne in 2004. Fritz was a retired machinist for Monsanto in Yardville. He was also a member of the German American Club in Hamilton. Husband of the late Charlotte Viereck, he is survived by four daughters, Isolde Karnbach of Melbourne, FL, Evelyn Sajkiewicz of Hamilton, NJ, Lotte Gerhold and husband Herbert of Germany and Ingrid Nitsche and husband Rudinger of Germany; his grandchildren, Fred, Ron, Jackie, Doris, Keith, Matt, Joelle and Dan and two great grandchildren. Funeral services for Fritz will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
