Earl R. “Sporty” Foulks, age 86, of New Egypt died Wednesday, January 23 at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, PA. Born in New Egypt, he was a lifetime resident. Earl served in the Navy during World War II. He retired as a foreman at Rohm and Haas in Bristol, PA after 33 years. Earl enjoyed to cruise with his friends, was a fan of the Phillies and he liked to play poker and growing tomatoes in his garden. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing for herring in the Delaware River with his brother Russ. Earl was predeceased by his first wife Maxine (Hanson) Foulks, his second wife Arlene (Johnson) Foulks, his brothers Ivins and Donald Foulks and his sister Thelma Southard. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Lynette Foulks of Cream Ridge and Thomas and Theresa Foulks of Cookstown; two daughters, Debra Streckenbein and husband Mark of Williamstown and Janice Cowell of New Egypt; two brothers, Russell Foulks and wife Phyllis of Jacobstown and William Foulks of Philadelphia; a sister, Shirley Fox of Mount Holly; seven grandchildren, Lauren Cowell, Daniel Villanueva, Emma Streckenbein, Allison Streckenbein, Amy Anderson and husband Matt, Mark Foulks and wife Renee and Beth Ann Foulks; two great grandchildren, Jared Foulks and Rylee Foulks; a special friend Irene Brown and her daughters Brenda and Linda of Levittown, PA and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Earl will be held on Monday, January 28 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with Rev. Dorothy Johns officiating. Burial will be in Emleys Hill Cemetery in Cream Ridge. Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Earl’s name may be made to either the New Egypt Elks Terry Lee Conk Scholarship Fund or the New Egypt Elks Special Children’s Committee Fund, 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533
