Jean S. Monroe, age 93, of New Egypt died Wednesday, May 1 at her residence. Born in Melbourne, Australia, she was a resident of New Egypt since 1956. Jean was a Life Member of the Eastern Star, a member of the VFW in Cookstown and the McGuire AFB Officers Club. She volunteered as a Legal Mediator for Burlington County and served on the Burlington County Child Custody Board. Jean belonged to the National Writers Guild and was a very talented artist. Wife of the late Herbert A. Monroe, she is survived by her friend of many years, Diana Smires of Columbus. Funeral services and interment for Jean will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08533. Due to cemetery restrictions on flowers, memorial contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
