Obituary of William J. Thompson

William J. Thompson, Jr., affectionately known as “Mr. T” or “Terminator”, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 27 at the age of 65. Born in Trenton, he lived in Jackson for the past 3 years and formerly lived in Cream Ridge.
Bill was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1967 to 1969. He was a retired police officer after serving for 25 years in Willingboro, Trenton, North Hanover Twp. and most recently Plumsted Township. He was a member of the P.B.A. and the American Legion Post 455 in New Egypt.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William J. and Katherine (nee Cunningham) Thompson, Sr. He is survived by his fiancée, Margaret King of Jackson; three sons, Brian Hertz of Philadelphia and Billy Thompson and Daniel Thompson both of Palmyra; a brother, Thomas Thompson of Hamilton; a sister, Katherine Thompson of Ewing and three grandchildren.
Funeral services for Bill will be held on Tuesday, September 3 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Monday evening, September 2 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
