Thomas Harrison, Sr., age 82, of Jacobstown died Thursday, August 7 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills, NJ. Born in Clarkstown, NY, he was a longtime Jacobstown/New Egypt area resident. Tom was a self-employed paving contractor. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Irene (Boswell) Harrison, two brothers, Brownie Boswell and Harry Harrison, a son, Thomas Harrison, Jr. in 1991, and by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Harrison in 2005. Tom is survived by his children and their spouses, Harry & Pay Harrison of New Egypt, Tillie & Don Hopkins of New Egypt, Irene & Messhick Stanley of Dover, DE, Shane Harrison of Jacobstown and Billy & Hazel Cooper of Wilmington, DE; two brothers, Willie Harrison and Saul Harrison both of Dover, DE; 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Tom will be held on Monday, August 11 at 1:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Sunday evening, August 10 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and again on Monday morning from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
