Obituary of Richard E. Emmons

Richard E. Emmons, age 81, of Browns Mills passed away Friday, November 28 at the Deborah Heart & Lung Center in Browns Mills. Born in Browns Mills, he was a lifetime area resident.
Richard was a retired school bus driver for the Pemberton Township Board of Education. He was a member of the B.B.B. Hunting Club in Woodland Twp., he enjoyed metal detecting, coin collecting, fishing, riding his quad, gardening and he loved animals.
Richard was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (LeMunyon) Emmons; two sons, Melton and Billy Emmons; a brother, George “Skippy” Emmons and a son-in-law, Bobby Moore. He is survived by a son, Richard Emmons, Jr. and girlfriend Jenny Knight; two daughters, Betty Moore and Wanda Sprague and husband James all of Browns Mills; 10 siblings, Albert Emmons, Donald Emmons, Helen McCracken and Florence Anderson all of Browns Mills, Edward Emmons of New York, Mike Emmons, Marion Early, Betty Price and Minerva Sylvester all of Florida and Susan Smith of Colorado; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment for Richard will be private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
