John W. “Jack” Ritter, of Cream Ridge, N.J., passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the age of 80. Jack was born to parents John Charles and Mary Kathryn (Frysinger) Ritter on June 2, 1934, in Napoleon, Ohio. Jack graduated from Napoleon High School in 1952, The Ohio State University in 1962, and Bowling Green State University in 1970. Jack married Rosemary Martucci on October 26, 1963, and was blessed to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 2013. Jack served as a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Napoleon, Grand Exalted Ruler of the Elks, and was one of the founders of the Defiance-Henry County Ohio State University Alumni Association, of which he was president in 1981. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosemary; his sons, Anthony of Cream Ridge, N.J., Gregory (Annie) of Easton, Pa., and Kathryn (Mike) of Potomac Falls, Va. Jack will also be remembered by his dear grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nikki, Kristi, Julie, Alex, Nicholas, and Kassie. A brief service to inter the ashes will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, N.J. 08562, at 1 pm on Friday, May 1. Friends and family are invited to attend the service and should gather at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, N.J. 08533, at 12:30pm to drive to the cemetery. A small reception will be held afterward at the home of Rosemary Ritter in Cream Ridge. Flowers may be sent to Tilghman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Ohio State University Marching Band’s “Dot the ‘i’ Fund” or to the National Stroke Association. www.tilghmanfh.com
