Obituary of James Ralph Scott

James Ralph Scott, 62, of Hampton Virginia, formerly of New Egypt, passed away suddenly at VCU Medical Center in Richmond Virginia. Born in Yamaguchi, Japan to the late Ralph and Akie, he traveled to many places before calling Virginia his home over 25 years ago. James was an avid motorcyclist and a direct descendant of Davy Crockett. He has a love for music, both practicing as a musician and listening to it. James was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was employed by Marine Systems Corporation, where he worked as a HVAC technical representative/engineer and was highly respected in his field. James was predeceased by his mother and by his father and step-mother Ralph and Jacqueline Scott. He leaves behind his 3 sisters; Elizabeth Idell and friend Billy Miller of Wrightstown, Barbara Carter and husband Irvin of New Egypt, Frances Taylor and husband Bob of Medford. He also leaves behind 3 nephews David Carter, George Idell, Zack Taylor; 4 nieces Cynthia Idell Alexander, Christine Carter, Amanda Taylor and Jamie Taylor (his Goddaughter); 1 great-nephew, 4 great-nieces, and cousins in Louisiana: and his best friend John Blum of Moorestown. Jim was also fortunate to have a loving Virginia Family, Edward and Carrie Lonecke, Mike (Dog) Ware, Vickie Hurdle and her son Levi, and many friends. Relatives and friends are to gather on Saturday, July 25, 2015 for a funeral service at 1PM at Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533 (TilghmanFH.com). Interment will take place at Emley’s Hill Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in James’ name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or to the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220.
