David P. Rogers Sr., age 58 of New Egypt passed away Sunday, July 26 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. Loving son, father and grandfather, David was a life time resident of New Egypt. He was a 1975 graduate of Allentown, NJ High School. He spent his early years working as Plant Supervisor for Permacel tapes in New Brunswick for 19 years. Following that position David started his own Small engine repair business, he loved working in his workshop and fixing things. He eventually took a position as Maintenance Supervisor for Plumsted Township where he retired in 2010 due to illness. Predeceased by his father Harold E Rogers, David is survived by his mother Laura Rogers of New Egypt; his children and their spouses David and Jennifer Rogers Jr. of Cream Ridge, Kristy and Rich Stinson of New Egypt, Daniel Rogers and Jamie Heath of New Egypt; siblings, Marlene Mertz of Manchester, Harold Rogers and wife MaryEllen of New Egypt and Mark Rogers of New Egypt; his longtime companion Delores Selover; his former wife, Michele Hoffman; 7 grandchildren, Danielle, Jason, Daphne, Dani Lynn, Jacob, Katelyn, and Adrianna. David will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends including his best friend A.J.. Funeral services for Dave will be held on Friday, July 31 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com) with burial to follow in the Cream Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
