John Bennett, 81, of New Egypt passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Jackson. He was born in Trenton NJ to the late Frederick and Helen Bennett. John served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later retired from General Motors in 1989. John was a member of the New Egypt Elks, loved to golf and bowl and enjoyed the last three years of his life at Sunrise. John is predeceased by his parents, his two brothers Fred Bennett and Tom Bennett, as well as his lifetime companion Inge McKulsky. He leaves behind his step daughter Stephanie Lane and husband Fred of New Egypt, two grandsons Travis Lane and Jason Lane, two sisters Barbara Umpleby and Marie Bethke, several nephews and nieces and his four children Frank Bennett, Steve Bennett, Joe Bennett and Sandra Bennett. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery at 10:30AM.
